Acuarela combines Brazilian materials with American manufacturing, choosing Connecticut over NYC for Northeast market entry

Acuarela has launched the first major Latin American luxury fashion platform in the U.S. market, establishing Greenwich as its Northeast headquarters in a direct challenge to European fashion's market dominance.
The luxury multi-brand platform, which sources premium materials from Latin America, while maintaining American manufacturing, held its U.S. debut May 29th at a private Greenwich estate, marking a strategic shift in how international luxury brands view the Connecticut market.
Market Disruption Strategy
"European fashion has controlled the luxury narrative for decades, but Latin American creativity and craftsmanship offer something entirely different," said Fabiani. "We chose Greenwich because sophisticated consumers here recognize quality and authenticity, regardless of origin."
The company's supply chain strategy—Brazilian materials, American manufacturing—positions it uniquely in the current market climate where consumers increasingly value both luxury and domestic production.
Northeast Market Entry

Rather than following traditional luxury brand patterns of launching in Manhattan, Acuarela selected Greenwich as its proving ground for the broader Northeast expansion.
"Greenwich represents the sophisticated American luxury consumer better than any other market," Fabiani explained. "Success here validates our approach for national expansion."
The launch featured collections from eight Latin American designers including Marcelo Quadros, DGaia, and Reinaldo Lourenço, showcasing the depth of Latin American luxury design previously unavailable in the U.S. market.
Acuarela’s debut was previously featured in Fairfield County Look , highlighting the brand’s unique positioning within Greenwich’s luxury market.
Economic Impact

While specific investment figures remain undisclosed, the company's American manufacturing commitment signals job creation potential as the brand scales. Future expansion plans include additional U.S. markets and expanded designer partnerships throughout Latin America.
The Greenwich launch attracted business leaders, designers, and influencers, with sponsors Baccarat and Lugano supporting the market entry.
